While these features are designed to become more capable over time, the currently enabled features do not make the vehicle autonomous.
Our conclusion in January: "To us, this update seems clearly tailored to stave off further government action for the time being while keeping 'nags' to a minimum, not to reduce driver distraction and improve safety." It seems like NHTSA is in alignment with our conclusions, and its investigation into whether the recall is sufficient could lead to a request for further action to address the inadequacies we and NHTSA found in Tesla's driver assistance systems.
