He made the revelation while advocating for his assistant, Charles Vaughn, to receive the opportunity to coach the team.
“ called me and he asked if I was going to stay on,” Vaughn told PennLive. “I was assuming as the interim head coach so I told him, ‘Yes.’ So, then he kept talking, and he said, ‘Oh, we’ll coach the varsity together.’ So, I said, ‘Who’s we?’ And he said, ‘Me. Me and you.’ So, I said, ‘Who’s the head coach?’ And he goes, ‘Administration says I’m the head coach.’
“I’m like, ‘Who’s administration? You’re administration,’” Vaughn said. “That’s what I was thinking, but I didn’t say it to him.”Hanna finished third in the District 3 5A tournament last season and made it to the state tournament before suffering a season-ending loss against Oakland Catholic.
