Another NFL Sunday calls for another quirky Terry Bradshaw take.
When previewing New Orleans’ Week 8 matchup on “Fox NFL Sunday,” Bradshaw, 76, acknowledged how injuries have plagued this 2-6 Saints squad and suggested how voodoo can turn their fortunes around.
“I called — you guys ready for this – I called Dennis Allen, the head coach of the Saints. I love the Saints, I’m from New Orleans, and I believe in voodoo, like all the people do in Louisiana. I called and I said listen, down in Louisiana, where the tall pine trees grow, lives a voodoo lady named Marie Laveau,” Bradshaw said, singing the lyrics from Bobby Bare’s “Marie Laveau,”“I called Marie Laveau. She took her pot. She went into the Saints. They put all that potion in there.
Bradshaw’s co-host, Curt Menefee, then reached for the Steelers legend’s cup and asked, “Did you have a cup of something over here cause I’m wondering what’s going on.”She was portrayed by Angela Bassett in FX’s “American Horror Stories: Coven” which aired from October 2013 through January 2014.Saints tight end Taysom Hill is expected to play against the Chargers after missing time with chest and rib injuries.
