Terengganu Umno asked to lodge vote-buying claim with EC, MACC, says Ahmad Maslan
Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan says Terengganu Umno has been urged to lodge a report with the Election Commission and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on allegations of vote-buying during the recent general election. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, January 22, 2023.
Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan said this has to be done to enable the authorities to carry out further investigations into the allegations. “I hope things are not being done to confuse Muslims on issues like changing fatwas at their own whims and fancies. To us, it is corruption. To me, this has violated EC regulations.
On January 3, Terengganu Umno filed a petition to annul the results of the Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Kemaman parliamentary contests during the GE. The seats were won by PAS candidates.
