Iran's recent drone attacks on Israel have caused growing tensions in the Middle East, with people in the Bay Area also feeling the impact. Political Science Professor Karthika Sasikumar suggests that the slow-moving drones were meant to send a signal to Iran's domestic population rather than inflict military damage. She believes the attacks are in retaliation for the bombing of the Iranian Embassy in Syria.

San Jose State University Political Science Professor Karthika Sasikumar said she was surprised Iran gave Israel so much warning by using slow-moving drones.
'That's what all of us are hoping and praying for.'Lara Kiswani with the Arab Resource and Organizing Center said she also wants to see the violence end.
