NEW YORK - World number one Novak Djokovic overcame Britain's Kyle Edmund in four sets to move into the third round of the US Open on Wednesday .
Djokovic, a three-time champion at Flushing Meadows, went a set down before rallying to win 6-7 , 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. The match lasted three hours 13 minutes inside an empty Arthur Ashe Stadium on day three of the first Grand Slam of the Covid-19 era. Djokovic, gunning for an 18th Grand Slam title, will play 29th-ranked German Jan-Lennard Struff in the next round on Friday.
