A Tennessee judge is ending the conservatorship agreement between former NFL player Michael Oher and the Tuohy family, which was reached in 2004 when Oher was 18.
The conservatorship agreement between formerThe agreement, which was reached in 2004 when Oher was 18 and was being recruited by college football programs, allowed Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy to control Oher’s finances. Shelby County Probate Court Judge Kathleen Gomes said Friday she is terminating the agreement, according to The Associated Press.
"Michael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on the basis that doing so would make him a member of the Tuohy family, in fact provided him no familial relationship with the Tuohys." Oher’s petition sought to end the conservatorship and bar them from using his name and likeness. It also seeks that Oher receives a share of profits based on the earnings the family purportedly made off his name.
