Ten people were shot with one person critically wounded early Sunday in Columbus, Ohio, police said. The shooting happened in the Short North Arts District near downtown around 2:30 a.m. with victims ranging between 16 and 27 years old, according to the Columbus Police Department. All of the victims from Sunday's shooting appeared to be men, according to NBC News affiliate WCMH-TV in Columbus. Nine of the victims were listed in stable condition Sunday morning, Columbus police said.
Joe Albert said a male suspect was found shortly after the shooting but officers lost him during a highway pursuit, according to the station. The suspect was driving a white Honda Civic with tinted windows, authorities said. The area in and around the district has been ripe with large shootings as of late. This is the third time in just over a year that a large number were shot in the arts district.
