Casemiro got injured on international duty with Brazil, played again four days later and is out for Man United this weekend.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expects Casemiro to be fit for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford next week but admits the Brazilian did not "help himself" by playing for Brazil against Uruguay.
Casemiro is also suspended for the Champions League visit of Copenhagen on Tuesday and United then host City on October 29. “He was injured in the first game and he came off but he played the second game, it was an important one. I’m sure that game didn’t help him but it’s a small injury and he’ll return next week and he will be healed and ready for our next game, I'm sure.”
“Of course they are closer, but with Shaw, I don’t expect him back in this block of games," Ten Hag clarified. "Wan-Bissaka is not too far away from returning to team training and so back in the team. Ten Hag has seldom had a fully-fit squad to choose from since he took over at United 17 months ago and Casemiro is their 17th player this season to succumb to injury or illness.
