Three Temple University students were arrested after impersonating federal immigration agents on campus. The incident caused concern and is under investigation by both the Philadelphia Police Department and Temple University Police. The incident comes amidst heightened tensions surrounding immigration enforcement nationwide.
A trio of Temple University students posed as phony federal immigration agents on the Philadelphia campus over the weekend — and neither cops nor school officials thought the stunt was funny.Two other students, who were not identified, are now under investigation, the school said.“The Philadelphia Police Department and Temple University Police swiftly responded to the incidents and initiated a criminal investigation,” the statement said.
According to the school, two students wearing shirts marked “Police” and “ICE” were spotted on campus shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday, with a third shooting video of their encounters.It is unclear if the other two students were questioned or remain on the loose.“It is deeply troubling and disappointing to know behavior like this reportedly occurred on campus,” the university’s statement said.
