A heat wave will grip parts of Southern California as temperatures will be scorching through the weekend.
A heat advisory is in effect through Saturday for several parts of the region, including the San Gabriel, San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys.
Los Angeles and Orange counties will be spared from the hot temperatures. On Friday, the region will see clouds in the morning and a high of 85 degrees for the afternoon. Similar weather is expected through Saturday. The valleys and Inland Empire on Friday can expect temperatures to reach 100, dropping to 65 at night. A hazy and hot Saturday is on tap, with temperatures also reaching 100.Mountain communities on Friday will be warm, as a high of 85 is on tap amid mostly sunny conditions.
Deserts on Friday can expect to reach 103 degrees, with Palm Springs reaching 111. The extreme temperatures will last through Saturday. The region be sunny and there will be some wind for the next few days.
