DALLAS — We're still more than three weeks off from the start of meteorological summer, and almost a month and a half away from summer's astronomical start.
On Wednesday afternoon, temperatures soared all across North Texas, with the heat at DFW International Airport reaching as high as 95 degrees. That, folks, is some record-tying heat! And what a record indeed: The last time temperatures around these parts were recorded this high on this date came 91 years ago, all the way back in 1933.
In other words: No, you're not crazy for thinking it's already starting to feel like summer around these parts. It's HOT. We tied a record high today of 95°. It's also been very humid with heat index values in the triple digits for many. And we also hit 90 degrees earlier this week, as temperatures climbed to the 90s and reached a high of 91 degrees on Tuesday -- which was warm, for sure, but not warm enough to be a record. No longer No. 2: DFW Airport falls in ranking of world's busiest airports WFAA would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
