Shone claims she had a green light and was entering an intersection at Dobson Road and Broadway in Mesa when Hyde's vehicle, with emergency lights activated, ran a red light and struck her. Shone sustained injuries in the crash and, tragically, learned that her unborn baby, Isla, had passed away. She recounts the agonizing hours at the hospital, initially unaware of the gravity of the situation, as medical professionals informed her of the placental detachment and contractions. The confirmation of Isla's loss was devastating. Shone shares the pain of holding her stillborn daughter for the first time, a bittersweet moment filled with both joy and sorrow. Hyde was subsequently arrested in July 2024 for driving under the influence while off-duty, leading to his termination from the Tempe Police Department.
