Tempe Mayor Corey Woods spoke out against antisemitic flyers distributed in a Tempe neighborhood on Thursday. according to a tweet from Woods"The flyers, which contained disgusting, bigoted rhetoric, were placed into plastic bags with stones to prevent them from blowing away," Woods said.
Tempe Police are"working to find the perpetrators," and the hate crime unit wants to hear from households who received the flyers, according to Woods. People are urged to call the Tempe Police non-emergency line at 480-350-8311 to report any information. "Whether their intolerable expressions take the form of graffiti, printed materials, or something else, they are jarring, offensive, and most of all totally unaccepted," Woods said, condemning the incident.This incident has also been condemned by the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations , the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization.
“We must all speak out strongly whenever any minority community is targeted by hate or when bigotry is promoted by those who seek to divide our society,” said CAIR Arizona Executive Director Azza Abuseif. for the discovery that streets, schools, and parks were named after town leaders who had ties to the Ku Klux Klan.
