Telegram introduces Power Saving Mode and other new features in latest update | TechNave

In a blog post, the company elaborated that the new Power Saving Mode can be set to be automatically turned on when your battery reaches a certain percentage. Essentially, the mode disables the app’s animations and lightweight effects to extend battery life and can be toggled or tweaked in Settings > Power Saving.

The mode also allows for improved performance on older devices, with individual toggles that let users disable specific effects. For iOS users, the power saving settings can be used to limit background updates, though Telegram doesn’t actually recommend this as it would mean seeing the app ‘updating…’ a lot more.

Meanwhile, for Android users, Telegram said that it has manually tested more than 200 device types to create optimised default settings. This will ensure all users get the best experience. Awesome!
