The incident began around 1 p.m. when apartment management, suspecting someone was in a vacant unit at Colonial Park Apartments, contacted the police. Upon entering the unit, officers discovered two teenagers, one of whom was armed. The teens attempted to flee, running to the back of the complex and jumping out a window. Once on the ground, they fired at the officers, who returned fire.
