15-year-old Neha Hariharaprasad, a freshman at Brandeis High School, developed 'Eczema Ease,' an app designed to assist users in managing and understanding their eczema diagnosis. The app utilizes machine learning to detect eczema based on uploaded photos and offers educational resources, symptom tracking, and insights into potential triggers and treatments.

Brandeis High School freshman Neha Hariharaprasad spent much of last summer in front of her computer, using her coding skills to help deal with one of the most common skin conditions in the world. After struggling with eczema since birth, the 15-year-old decided to create an app to assist people in managing and understanding their eczema diagnosis.

Austin is no longer Texas' fourth-largest city. Here's who overtook the Texas capital. “I was filled with joy,” Neha said. “I was so happy because I worked really hard on it and that paid off.” The app, dubbed “Eczema Ease,” is split into two sections. The Educate section allows users to upload photos of their skin and detect their eczema using a Convolutional Neural Network machine learning model.

San Antonio has most affordable ZIP code in Texas, 4th-most affordable in nation, study says When her brother, Rishi Hariharaprasad, won the Congressional App Challenge in 2022 with his submission “Disabled Health,” which provides people with disabilities with real-time information about at-home injuries, she knew she wanted to create an app inspired by her experience with eczema. The Northside Independent School District student learned to code in fifth grade.
