Teenage Hadebe continues to enjoy the benefits of his US stay after maintaining his earnings above the million-dollar mark.
Hadebe is due to complete a year at Houston Dynamo next week having moved from Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor where he spent two years playing regularly after having joined from Kaizer Chiefs.According to the MLS Players Association, Hadebe earns a gross of USD1,179 177 million per annum as his guaranteed annual compensation.Last year he was on USD1,125 177 million .
At Houston Dynamo, the lad from Bulawayo is the second-highest earner to Paraguayan forward Sebastien Ferreira who is on USD1,97 million . The MLS Players Association states the annual guaranteed compensation as inclusive of a player’s base salary, signing-on fee, marketing bonus, agent fees and guaranteed bonuses annualised over the term of the player’s contract including option years.The league allows each club to acquire up to three players whose total compensation and acquisition costs exceed the maximum budget charge.
Meanwhile, the two South Africans playing in the MLS, Bongokuhle Hlongwane of Minnesota United earns USD580,000 while Tsiki Ntsabeleng of FC Dallas is on USD65,500 per annum.
