Christopher Sagrero 17, and Jose Sagrero 19, each face a murder charge, according to Garland police. The brothers were initially booked into the Dallas County jail on one count each of aggravated assault, but the charges were elevated once the victim died,About 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a “weapons disturbance” call in the 400 block of South Forest Crest Drive, police said.

Steven LaFuente, an attorney for Jose Sagrero, said after speaking with his client that it appears a “chaotic scene” ensued at the barbershop where the shooting occurred. “I’m very certain that this case will involve various defensive theories, such as self-defense and defense of others,” LaFuente said in a text message, adding additional details in the case will be available after a bond reduction hearing for his client.Police did not say how they connected the Sagreros to the shooting.

The brothers remained in custody Tuesday afternoon with bail set at $250,000 each, although it was unclear whether that would be changed after the charges were upgraded.
