A teenage surfer was rushed to the hospital on Monday after suffering from a possible shark attack off the coast of North Carolina, officials said.
"I asked for [my friend] to look at my foot cause I was kind of scared to look at it -- like I was scared that maybe the shark took a toe off or something," Austin Reed told ABC News in an interview from the hospital."It's pretty bad. And I looked at it and there was blood everywhere." Reed said the wound from the bite went right to the bone,"I think they were talking about maybe physical therapy, but I'm able to move my toes. Except for my little one. So they say that recovery-wise it won’t be that bad. Just like stitch it up and wait for everything to heal."
"I think I’m gonna be a pool person for a little bit, but I think I'll definitely go back to the beach," Reed said."It won't stop me."
