A teenage attacker was caught wearing his victim's distinctive Union Jack jacket days after he brutally stabbed him.
Adam Muirhead knifed William Byrne having earlier allowed the then 17-year-old and a friend to stay the night at his home in Haghill, Glasgow on October 13 2020.
It emerged he struck around a year after he had been spared being locked up for two other violent incidents.The court heard how Mr Byrne had met Muirhead and an associate near a shop close to his home.After they arrived, Muirhead put on Mr Byrne's jacket with a Union Jack design.Mr Mohammed:"While back was turned, he felt himself being struck with a weapon.The wounded victim staggered to his bathroom for safety - Muirhead and his friend tried to barge in, but eventually fled.
He also sank his teeth into the nose of Mr Clark, who only got him away by grabbing him between the legs.A woman yelled she was dialling 999, but Muirhead shouted:"What do I care about the police? Do what you want."Mr Mohammed:"He was wearing William Byrne's Union Jack jacket when he was apprehended."
