Two men connected with the suspected gambling operation also are facing charges, police say.
AKRON, Ohio — A 16-year-old male was wounded in the stomach during a struggle for his weapon when he tried to rob a reported gambling operation Monday in South Akron, police say.
The teen has been charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault, but two men also are facing gambling-related charges in connection with the site where the incident occurred. Officers were called to the Royal Queens Party Center on the 800 block of Brown Street at about 7:15 p.m. Police say the site has been “on the police department’s radar” and has been “the subject of concern for area residents.”
