York City police said the teen intervened in a fight before he was stabbed. It all happened around 1 p.m. Monday in the area of East Philadelphia Street near Kress Lane.
A teenager stabbed multiple times in the neck earlier this week in York County has died from his injuries. A Dauphin County spokesperson said the 17-year-old was pronounced dead Wednesday night at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.An autopsy determined the causes of death were traumatic brain injury and stab wounds.
Police also said video captured the stabbing, and they have a person of interest, who is an adult. It's not clear at this point whether the victim and assailant knew one another.Right now, investigators are working with the York County District Attorney's Office to determine how to proceed.Shots were also fired during the fight, according to police. The alleged shooter, 19-year-old Josiah Matthews, is charged.Below: Photos from the scene.
