A 17-year-old was shot and killed Monday in north Harris County, and two people are facing charges related to his death, according to authorities.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to the 4300 block of Stuebner Hill Drive, near FM 1960, and found the wounded teen. He was rushed to a hospital, where he died. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez identified the victim as Dominique McCoy. He said McCoy was visiting the home of the suspected shooter, Reginald Smalls, also 17.Smalls told authorities McCoy had startled him,"causing him to shoot him." Smalls has been charged with manslaughter in the death.
Another person staying at the home, Lekedrick Bowden, 18, is facing charges of tampering with evidence, although Gonzalez did not provide details about what led to those charges.
