A 16-year-old boy from Candelaria, Zambales tested positive for the COVID-19, local health officials said.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the patient was initially diagnosed with “acute glomerulonephritis” or inflammation in the kidneys when he was admitted to the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba, Zambales on Jan. 10. He was then discharged three days later.“[But] he was admitted to the hospital again on July 9 and was diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary edema and pneumonia,” Bueno said.
On July 10, the patient was transferred to the Allied Care Expert Medical Center-Baypointe in the Subic Bay Freeport to undergo dialysis treatment due to his worsening health condition, Bueno said.
