JUST IN: A teenage girl hit by a driver on East Colfax Avenue has died and a teenage boy was seriously injured in the incident.
The teens, both age 15, were crossing Colfax, walking north to south within the crosswalk, when they were hit by a person driving a Jeep Wrangler, police said. Investigators have determined that the teens were “crossing against traffic” and that the driver had the right of way.
Both teens were taken to a hospital, where the girl died Wednesday night, police said. The boy suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
