Police say James Lambert was attacked by four males and three females on June 24, and died the next day.

The brothers along with five other juveniles were allegedly involved in the June 24 attack on the 2100 block of Cecil B. Moore Avenue in North Philadelphia. Police say 73-year-old James Lambert was attacked by four males and three females.In surveillance video released by police on Friday,with a traffic cone. Police said the suspects struck Lambert several times with other objects as well.

The surveillance video shows the teens following Lambert when one of the boys picks up a traffic cone and hurls it at him. Lambert is knocked to the ground and tries to get away before he gets hit a second time by a young girl. Police say Lambert suffered injuries to his head and later died the following day from injuries. Homicide Capt. Jason Smith said at least two teens took part in the beating. The medical examiner ruled Lambert’s death as blunt force trauma, according to WPVI-TV.”When my parents died I raised my brothers and sisters. It’s so sad he lived that long and these kids would take his life and beat him like he was nothing in the street,” Stephens said.

According to WPVI-TV, no formal charges have been filed in the case. Philadelphia police is offering a $20,000 reward for anyone with information on the individuals involved. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit at 686-3334/3335.
