A teen was shot in the leg around 4 p.m. Thursday in the 4500 block of N. Main Street, Jacksonville. Police said he was standing near an intersection, car pulled up.

Jacksonville police say they don't have suspect information and that they need the public's help. The teen was shot in the upper leg.JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police say a teenage boy was hanging out near North Main Street and West 32nd Street at around 4 p.m. on Thursday when the teen told police that a male approached him with a handgun and fired at him.

The teen victim was shot in the upper leg and the shooter got away, police say. The victim also told police he doesn't know the person who shot him and couldn't provide a description of the shooter. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover. There were a couple homes and a vehicle struck by gunfire near the scene. No one else was hurt. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about what happened or any surveillance footage to please come forward. County Public Schools says Andrew Jackson High School was on a temporary lockdown for safety precautions around the time of the shooting.
