A 15-year-old boy was arrested by Jackson Township police for allegedly setting two fires at the Lake Cable Village Apartments. The arsons, which occurred this week, resulted in one injury and damage to several vehicles.
JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Jackson Township police arrested a 15-year-old boy Thursday in connection to back-to-back arsons at an apartment complex. Officers said the pair of fires this week at Lake Cable Village Apartments left one person hurt and several cars destroyed.
The State Fire Marshal says the alleged arsonist set the first fire around 3 p.m. Tuesday at one of the apartment building carports.“I look out my kitchen window and everything is smoking and on fire before the building collapsed,” Tomczak said.“All of sudden the fire came over to my car and underneath my car started exploding and catching on fire as well,” Tomczak said.“It was very very loud. It sounded like gun shots. Everyone started running out trying to get their cars out, but it was already too late,” said Tomczak.“The car, it was an unbelievable feeling,” Pettis said. “This motorcycle it is behind the debris.”Danielle Novak, managing director of Lake Cable Village Apartments, said she had never seen anything like this before at the complex. “This is the first we have ever had something like this. When this happened the other day we didn’t know what caused it. The fact that we had two in a couple days put us on alert,” Novak said.“To the person who is doing it, I just don’t understand why you would do such a malicious thing to people who don’t even know you,” Pettis said.Lakewood bar temporarily closing after neon sign catches fire, causing damageGarfield Heights man charged with aggravated murder in fatal shooting of Lyft driver
