Seattle police arrested a teen for property damage after a demonstration took place near the Space Needle on Nov. 9, 2024. According to the Seattle Police Department, the teen was arrested for felony damage around 3:30 p.m. during the Build the People’s Movement demonstration.

The SPD said demonstrators made their way southbound on Fifth Avenue from the Space Needle toward downtown Seattle. Police said the crowds were “disrupting traffic and violating municipal laws.” The Community Response Group located and arrested the teen after observing several tags of black spray paint graffiti on concrete columns under the Seattle Monorail.

The SPD recovered black spray paint and noticed matching paint on her hands. The teen was arrested for second-degree malicious mischief. The teen was processed at the West Precinct because she is a juvenile and was released to her parents, the SPD said.
