Based on new evidence, Kristian Ray Belmudez again faces two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Gabriel Sanchez and Sanaa McNeil, both 19.on June 8, saying his office lacked sufficient evidence to prove Belmudez killed the two beyond a reasonable doubt. The DA said additional evidence obtained by the San Antonio Police Department is enough for his office to revisit the capital murder charges. He did not detail what the new evidence is.

Belmudez is accused of killing Sanchez and McNeil on Jan. 16 at a Travelodge motel off Interstate 35.
