Former 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Teddi Mellencamp is recovering after surgery to remove multiple brain tumors. Mellencamp announced her diagnosis on Instagram, sharing that she had been experiencing crippling headaches and that doctors discovered the tumors after a CT scan and MRI. She expressed gratitude for the love and support she received from family, friends, and fans.

The estranged husband of former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi Mellencamp says she is recovering after undergoing surgery for multiple brain tumors. “So many people asking for updates,” Edwin Arroyave wrote on his Instagram story on Feb.

13. “All I will say right now is surgery went well. That said, I’ve never seen @teddimellencamp in so much pain. She’s finally getting some much needed rest. I know she is grateful for the outpouring of love.” Arroyave also posted a photo of son Cruz, 10, one of the three kids he shares with Mellencamp, holding a signed heart-shaped card with the words “Feel better” written in the center of it. “Cruz’s class made this for @teddimellencamp ❤️,” Arroyave wrote over the picture. Arroyave’s update came after Mellencamp, 43, informed her fans that she had to go to the hospital with crippling headaches. “After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months,” she wrote on Feb. 12 on Instagram. “Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today — The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date. “I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health. Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey,” she wrote. Mellencamp, who announced in November that she and Arroyave were getting divorced, chronicled her trip to the hospital while she waited for surgery in a series of since-deleted updates on her Instagram story. Her first post said she was waiting for Arroyave and their kids, Cruz, Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, to arrive. She also quoted her father, singer John Cougar Mellencamp. “As my dad said this am, god only gives hard stuff to those of us who can handle it. It’s a hard day but I have faith and amazing surgeons and know everything will be OK,” she said. She also shared a video of herself preparing for surgery as a friend shaved her head and posted a photo. In her last post before surgery, she turned the camera to show “RHOBH” co-star Kyle Richards and other friends in her hospital room. “Here we go. How many minutes? What’s the countdown?” she asked before multiple people said she had 10 minutes until the surgery started. Mellencamp’s revelation about her tumors came more than a week after she posted a photo of a long scar on her back on Instagram following melanoma surgery in honor of World Cancer Day. “It’s #WorldCancerDay so I’d like to remind you to get your skin checks scheduled,” she wrote in the Feb. 4 post's caption. In January 2024, Mellencamp announced she was in good health after having the surgery. “I got the final report back from my oncologist. ‘Final report is all good. Some atypical areas, but no melanoma,’” she wrote on Instagram. “I am forever grateful to my incredible doctors, nurses, family and friends,” she added. “I absolutely will be diligent with my 3 month checkups. Please be the same with your skin checks.” Mellencamp revealed in October 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma and had been vocal about her experience treating it, saying in 2023 she believed she had a dozen or more melanomas. This past September, she underwent surgery to remove her 16th melanoma.
