Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are among the Republicans calling out the Biden administration's so-called 'lack of urgency' in taking down the suspected Chinese spy balloon. 'This entire episode telegraphed weakness' to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Cruz said.
“‘The president taking it down over the Atlantic is sort of like tackling the quarterback after the game is over.’”
“This [balloon] should never have been allowed to enter the U.S., and it never should have been allowed to complete its mission,” Turner said on Meet the Press on Sunday. “I think this administration lacks urgency,” he added later. And both Turner and Cruz called the Biden administration out for not telling the American public about the suspected spy balloon until after media outlets had broken the story.
“We should remember this is now known to have happened under the Trump administration multiple times,” the New Jersey lawmaker said. “To create another standard for Biden is a bit hypocritical.”
