Technical problems that hit the Air Traffic Management Center delayed flights on the first day of 2023. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines apologized to affected passengers of domestic and international flights for the inconvenience.

'We are currently addressing the issues for the main purpose of safety, and we would like to reiterate this is for the safety of the passengers as it is better to secure the aircrafts on the ground to avoid untoward incidents,' CAAP said in a statement on Sunday, January 1, 2023. The Manila International Airport Authority said that it was looking into the problem as well.
