#TECH: Media Prima Digital's data engineer creates Covid-19 portal for global reference

Called Corona Tracker , the portal which is also available in an Adroid app format, offers people up-to-date global information based on countries affected.

"In Malaysia, there are 800 volunteers with 30 core ones helping us with the updates on the outbreak," says Mohd Hafeez. Mohd Hafeez says the work on the portal started on Jan 25, 2020, which was the first day of the Lunar New Year. Besides that, the portal aims to gather data for in-depth analysis, for example, time series to monitor the growth, spread of the virus and localised news, like news related to Malaysia, or KL only.
