Teboho Mokoena and Sundowns have been talks over a new, improved deal since November 2023 but the two parties have not reached a consensus.

And while those rumours have gone on and on, there appears to be nothing concrete tabled, and Sundowns are happy to keep him longer at the club. Now, Binkin said he has tried by all means to avoid talking about the Mokoena negotiations in the media out of respect for Sundowns. “We have purposely stayed out of the media out of respect to Sundowns and the sensitivity around the negotiations, but feel it necessary to correct what has been said and written, and therefore set the record straight so as not to mislead anyone.”
