PARIS -- The women’s gold medal game looks very similar to the men’s, as Team USA and France face off in both matchups. The women’s team eyes its historic eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in Sunday’s matchup with the hosts, tip-off is set for 9:30 a.m. Eastern.
Team USA is led by the best of the WNBA, with stars like A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart showing their brilliance. Stewart had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists against Australia, while Wilson added 10 points and eight rebounds as she has been consistently on double-double watch. And the team didn’t disappoint some notable onlookers, including Sue Bird, Dawn Staley, Kevin Durant and Vanessa Bryant and her children.
“The group that’s going to be out there is going to be a little more ready and rested to be able to give everything they had,” Reeve said.
