Olentangy Berlin gymnastics coach Jen Hedrick believes her program has the potential to end central Ohio’s team title drought at state.
Coming off a dominating performance at the district meet Saturday at Worthington Kilbourne, the Bears will aim to become the first Central District team to win a state title since 1995, when Upper Arlington edged Thomas Worthington for the championship.
In its fifth season, Berlin will be competing in its fourth consecutive team state meet. Last season, the Bears tied Rocky River Magnificat for sixth behind champion Brecksville . Also at district, the top eight finishers in each event and the all-around advanced to the individual state meet Saturday at Bradley.Swain also won floor exercise and vault , and Downing finished first on uneven bars and balance beam .She is now competing in track and field at Dayton.
