Luminate commenced tracking music sales in 1991 when the company was known as SoundScan. Luminate’s sales, streaming, and airplay data are used to compile weekly charts. Luminate’s 2024 tracking year spanned from December 29, 2023, to January 2, 2025. Notably, Luminate’s 2024 tracking year contained 53 weeks, deviating from the usual 52 weeks. Consequently, for 2024 volume comparisons to 2023, Luminate employed a corresponding 53-week period for 2023: December 30, 2022, through January 4, 2024.
