Taylor Swift was spotted in a photo at a star-studded birthday dinner for Lena Dunham, alongside Emily Ratajkowski and more
Lena Dunham’s birthday dinner had an A-list lineup with Taylor Swift headlining the guest list. Taylor, 36, was among the attendees spotted at the Via Carota in New York City’s West Village, where the Girls actress celebrated turning 40 alongside several of her closest friends on Tuesday, May 12, one day before the official milestone.
'Happy birthday @lenadunham! I continue to be in awe of your kindness and talent. I'm very lucky to be your friend,” Andrew Rannells gushed in a tribute shared via his Instagram Stories before sharing a group shot including the pop star, 36, and more. Also at the event was Lena’s husband, Luis Felber, and model Emily Ratajkowski, who starred in the actress’ 2025 Netflix show Too Much, as well as French film director Romain Gavras.
“Thank you for taking this picture,” Andrew, 47, wrote to birthday girl Lena alongside a group shot including the duo, plus Taylor and Romain, “so I can seem cool for the kids. ” Lena’s squad dressed to impress for their Big Apple outing.
Ratajkowski was clad in a brown dress with white polka-dots and bright red ankle boots, while Taylor wore her signature crimson lip with Retrofête's Devika Knit Dress paired with a black Dior bag and pointed-toe Gucci slingback heels. Lena was in great spirits during the event, rocking a purple off-the-shoulder blouse paired with black capris and a sparkling “happy birthday” tiara. She was seen exiting the venue with a pink lava lamp in tow.
The Sharp Stick director recently gushed about her bond with Taylor in her second memoir, Famesick, released in April.
“TayTay — you sing the songs I wrote this book to, the stories that pulled these stories out of me, the music that makes the whole world feel seen, and yet somehow, miraculously, you also pick up every desperate call at every desperate hour,” Lena wrote in one chapter. “I love you so much and forever, for the reasons that everyone does and for reasons all my own.
” Lena will surely be among the attendees when Taylor ties the knot with fiancé Travis Kelce this summer. The couple are rumored to be exchanging vows in NYC during July 4th weekend.
“They’ve gone back and forth between inviting everyone and keeping it small and private,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in April. “As of now, they’ve scaled it down. ” Another insider said, “Their closest friends and family know the venue and the date. ”
