According to final, unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, Issue 42 was defeated with 55 percent of the vote. The levy received 12,907 no votes and 10,649 yes votes. Dean said the levy is supposed to generate about $575,000 a year for the city. It brought in about $556,000 in 2023, based on a collection rate of 97 percent.Brecksville Issue 7: Banning businesses that grow and/or sell marijuana

The law permits each adult to grow up to six marijuana plants in their home and up to 12 marijuana plants in one household.However, municipalities can ban or limit the number of marijuana dispensaries in their communities.Issue 8 was approved with 67 percent of the vote, according to unofficial elections board results.Issue 8 received 5,553 yes votes and 2,739 no votes.
