Tate McRae has definitely followed in Britney Spears's footsteps in her career — and quite literally on the red carpet at the 2024 MTV VMAs.
Tate McRae has never been shy about her love for Britney Spears . The musician and dancer has definitely followed in Princess of Pop's footsteps, including on the red carpet at the 2024 MTV VMAs — a.k.a. the home of Spears's most iconic looks and performances of all time. For the 2024 show, McRae paid homage to Spears in a see-through black lace minidress by Roberto Cavalli with long sleeves and a high neck, similar to the Dolce & Gabbana mini Spears wore back in 2001.
McRae wore her hair in effortless waves and paired her dress with Maison Ernest's Plaisir 10 peep-toe heels, also in black. “I think she's one of the most incredible performers of the 2000s,' McRae said of the comparisons to Spears. 'I remember watching her as a kid. I feel very lucky that she's seen my performances and knows my music.' Tate McRae wasn't the only one who gave Spears some love during the show.
