We chat with Rugrats actors RealEGDaily & tarastrong about voicing Tommy Pickles and baby Dil, and how their other characters might react to the famous babies. New season airs April 14 on paramountplus!
Nickelodeon's greatest animated show about a group of babies, Rugrats, has returned to Paramount+ with a second season of the rebooted series. Tommy Pickles and his friends Chuckie, Susie, Phil, Lil, and even Angelica return with EG Daily and most of the original show's cast.
EG Daily: The answer is no, we actually don't work together. But that was really sweet back in the days when we used to work together. Tara Strong: We're super grateful because COVID hit people really hard. So it's a gift that we still got to work from home, and anyone that had a setup was ready to go. I mean, I think animation is probably the only leg of the business that didn't really miss a beat once the world shut down. So we're pretty lucky.
I think that none of that changed, and the relationships didn't really change. All the charming things, all the tough parts, all the silly funny parts, all of it just came back to this new version of Rugrats. The difference now, obviously, with the CGI being so spectacular that you get to see these characters in their adventures through their perspective; now looking at things from a much more incredible visual. It is an incredible, incredible thing.
