Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv MAYNILA—Humingi ng paumanhin si Dr. Tony Leachon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ilang araw matapos magbitiw sa puwesto bilang special adviser ng National Task Force on COVID-19 response.
Sa panayam sa ABS-CBN Teleradyo Sabado ng umaga, sinabi ni Leachon na kahit wala na siya sa puwesto ay patuloy niyang susuportahan ang pamahalaan sa laban nito para masugpo ang coronavirus disease 2019 .Naniniwala si Leachon na sa loob ng halos tatlong buwan ay malaki rin ang kaniyang naging ambag sa organisasyon.
“Pinanghahawakan ko ’yung utos sa akin na to have a divergent opinion. Kaya divergent ’yung opinion ko kasi that was my marching orders din to give a different opinion apart from the opinion ng ibang tao,” paliwanag ng doktor. “Ang buhay mabilis lang ’yan. Dapat may sense of urgency ka. Kaya ko naman sinasabi lagi ’yung real and granular data kasi milyong-milyong Pilipino naaapektuhan nito. Kung ang data na nilalagay mo luma, hindi ka magagabayan dito nang maayos. Ang pinag-uusapan natin dito hindi lang isa o dalawang buhay,” sabi niya.
