Flynn and Rapunzel face to face in Tangled
Tangled is one of the upcoming Disney live-action remakes, rebooting the beloved 2010 animated movie of the same name. It is confirmed to star Tegan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, and Kathryn Hahn as Gothel, with Michael Gracey as director, likely aiming for a 2027 theatrical release.
However, audiences can check out what the actors might look like as the leads now. Creator Kode Abdo has shared an unofficial poster for the new Tangled movie via Instagram, rendering Croft and Manheim as Rapunzel and Flynn, with looks and costumes that are extremely faithful to the original movie. Flynn is smirking at Rapunzel, who glares back at him, with them both leaning against a tree covered in his wanted posters. Check out this artwork below: There is also a poster from @bosslogic focusing on Pascal, Rapunzel's chameleon companion: Pascal is smiling from the forest floor, draped in a lock of Rapunzel's hair. Another fan poster is promised to be coming soon, potentially featuring Hahn as Gothel. The characters of Rapunzel, Flynn, and Gothel were originally voiced by Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy, respectively. The live-action remake of Tangled was first announced in 2024, but was indefinitely shelved by Disney following the colossal commercial failure of Snow White in 2025. However, Tangled reentered development after 2025's Lilo & Stitch grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, with Disney announcing that Croft and Manheim had been cast as the leads in January 2026. Based on the approach Disney has taken with its recent remakes, particularly those based on animated films from the 21st century, this art is possibly very close to what the actors will actually look like as Rapunzel and Flynn. Snow White and Lilo & Stitch both feature costume and/or character designs very close to the originals, and the marketing for the live-action Moana reveals more of the same. With Lilo & Stitch having been a massive hit, Moana is on sure footing ahead of its theatrical release on July 10, 2026. The box office success of the animated Moana 2 in 2024 assures Disney that this particular franchise is still lucrative, a decade after its 2016 debut. Moreover, Lilo & Stitch, Moana, and arguably also the live-action How to Train Your Dragon all being box office hits would bode very well for Tangled. Tangled and Moana are contemporaries in that they are both fan-favorite original Disney Princess movies from the 2010s, and how they fare in their live-action iterations will inevitably invite comparisons. While Disney's strategy of producing so many remakes and visually adhering to the original's design has its vocal critics, it is undeniably a strong bet at the box office with both of these upcoming movies. 26 8.3/10 8/10 Tangled 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed PG Adventure Fantasy Comedy Musical Family Animation Romance Release Date November 24, 2010 Runtime 100 minutes Director Byron Howard, Nathan Greno Writers Dan Fogelman Franchise Disney Cast See All
