PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s former coach Tan Kim Her has followed in Jeremy Gan’s footsteps to produce All-England champions for Japan.

World No. 6 Hiroyuki Endo-Yuta Watanabe, who has been training under Kim Her since April last year, emerged as Japan’s first-ever men’s doubles champions in the tournament’s 110-year history when they prevailed in a sensational 21-18,12-21,21-19 win over world No. 1 Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia in the final at the Arena Birmingham on Sunday.

It was indeed a significant moment especially for Endo, who has failed to capture the All-England title with former partner Kenichi Hayakawa in three finals - 2013,2014 and 2016.
