The city of Pearland has established a $200 daily rental fee for the Miracle Field at the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch. The field for special-needs athletes opened in March.Pearland City Council recently voted 5-2 to approved a fee schedule for fiscal year 2023 that includes new charges and changes some existing ones related to the city’s utility billing, police, fire and parks departments.
Examples of new fees, which went in effect Oct. 1, are a $200 charge to “non-pay customers” who tamper with or damage water meters, a custodial fee of $100 for use of the stage and dressing room at Independence Park and a $250 annual fee for a city fire code officer to inspect child daycare facilities.
A new $100 hourly fee will be charged for crowd control at special events to ensure safety of participants, and a new one-time fee of $100 covers fire code testing of smoke-control systems. The daily rental cost for the new Miracle Field at the Sports Complex at Shadow Creek Ranch was set at $200. The fee for lifeguards to staff pool rentals rose from $10 to $15.in line with what microchipping costs the city."
