Its superintendent Allan Rodrigo Balang said activities in the national park had been temporarily suspended from today until March 31 as a precaution to stem the spread of the coronivarus."Tour agents and guides who are responsible to bring in both foreign and local tourists have been informed about the closure.
"The authorities will make an official announcement on when the park will be reopened," he said when contacted today. "We have to adhere to the instruction by Perhilitan and can only hope that the national park will be opened next month and there will not be a prolonged shutdown," he said. "Boatmen, chalet operators and tour guides will now have zero-income. Tourist arrivals at the national park had dropped since January and the latest directive is certainly not good news to us.
