The blessing box outside the Downtown Jonesboro Alliance is filled with food and hygiene products. The box serves as a blessing for the unsheltered community and anyone in need of a helping hand.
“The concept is 'take what you need, leave what you can'," Sarah Doss, executive director of the Downtown Jonesboro Alliance, said.
“The blessing box is something that we as the downtown Jonesboro board felt was missing from our mission and just from the downtown community,” Doss said. They fill it with items like canned foods and hygiene products for the unsheltered community or anyone in need of a helping hand. “Canned items are always great, we prefer the ones that have the pop tab, we don’t have a can opener attached to the box,” Doss said. “So, any kind of non-perishable food like that. Toothbrushes are always helpful. Any kind of hygiene products or non-perishable foods are always appreciated.”
