TAIPEI (dpa): Voters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s third-largest city, headed to the polls on Saturday (June 6) in a recall election for Mayor Han Kuo-yu, who was also the main challenger in the last presidential election.

He is the first special municipality head in Taiwan to face a recall vote, according to the Central Election Commission .Long queues were seen outside some polling stations in Kaohsiung as locals turned out to vote on a sunny day, Formosa Television reported.Due to the Covid-19 epidemic, people are asked to maintain social distancing and wear face masks.
